Ross Fitzgerald & Ian McFadyen, The Lowest Depths. Featured in Fulbright in Focus, 2021.
An exciting update, courtesy of our dear friend, 1968 Fulbright alum Professor Ross Fitzgerald AM (Griffith University):
“I thought that you and the group might be interested to know that my forty-third book, and eighth Grafton Everest adventure, THE LOWEST DEPTHS, will soon be released by my nimble Melbourne-based publisher, Hybrid. This follows my forty-second book, a memoir, FIFTY YEARS SOBER: AN ALCOHOLIC’S JOURNEY, also published by Hybrid.
THE LOWEST DEPTHS is co-written with my long-time friend Ian McFadyen, of Comedy Company fame.
In it, the hapless ex-President of the Republic of Australia, whose beloved wife Janet is away on a world tour, Dr Professor Grafton Everest finds himself part of a United Nations mission to investigate electoral fraud in Russia.
Bookending my seventh Grafton Everest adventure THE DIZZYING HEIGHTS, in THE LOWEST DEPTHS my Panama hat wearing, corpulent anti-hero finds himself in Moscow and the icy wastes of Siberia in a plot full of twists and turns that would make an Olympic gymnast proud.
My eighth Grafton Everest adventure, THE LOWEST DEPTHS, will be released by Hybrid Publishers on November 5 – which happens to be Guy Fawkes Day and the anniversary of my marriage in 1976 to my darling late wife Lyndal Moor.”
Check it out at Hybrid Publishers. Great stuff, Ross!
