Author Professor Ross Fitzgerald discusses why people hate Collingwood. He says the dislike of Collingwood originated because they were so successful as well as being known as the Catholic football team supported by Archbishop Mannix. He says hatred of the team has carried on from this time and comments that Collingwood supporters are not always the most savoury people. Fitzgerald says Collingwood supporters are extremely loyal to the club.
